Fond memories

All my senior friends are graduating. It majorly bummed me out today when I went to lunch and there was my table…empty. Oh sure, there are a couple sophomores and a freshman who usually sit there, too, but all the seniors were gone. I was struck by a massive sense of nostalgia. All the good memories. All the funny jokes. The banana on the roof, the spoon fights, the cram sessions for math and/or Vietnam…I ended up sitting somewhere else so I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by sadness at the sight of empty seats. Plus empty tables remind me of my freshman year. Not a pleasant thing to be remembering.

Today was officially their last day. There was this big assembly (that I got to skip because the band takes that time to practice for our graduation performance) and then the seniors went around to all their classes and got signed out so they could leave. Graduation is Friday. I have no doubt that I’ll get a little misty-eyed knowing I won’t be seeing the great majority of the seniors again. At least not every day. But on the bright side, I get to go to a graduation party on the 18th and they’ll probably all be there. That should be a fun party. Even if I’ll be dead tired because of an all-night lock-in the night before. Yeah. It’ll be even cooler if we play spoons with me in that condition. But I doubt I’ll be that tired. I mean, how bad can a lock-in with a bunch of hyper teenagers be? <–*famous last words*

You know you have too much country music on your computer when your “random” playlist of rock/jazz/ska/metal/country/pop music plays ten country songs in a row. I still can’t believe it did that. I didn’t think there was that much country on there. I mean, the list is four and a half hours long. How much country can there possibly be on there to play ten in a row? My computer has problems like that.

I also found out about another free webmail service, open to people who use AIM. I rarely do use it, but I have a screen name, so that was how I got in. Apparently Gmail made a big impression because AIM Mail gives you 2 GB free. Twice as much as Gmail (although Gmail is constantly increasing, I’ve had Gmail long enough to have 2 GB on it). I don’t foresee myself ever using AIM Mail, but it’s nice to have a mail service to use when I sign up for things so it gets all the spam. Like my Yahoo mail account…and my Mail.com account…and to a lesser extent my Hotmail account. But I get a lot of legit mail in Hotmail. But by far I also get the most “F.R.EE C.IA.LIS T.AB.S” and “M AK E H E R HA P PY” spam. I swear…
