Can’t go wrong with a goatee

I did the Amazing Race today. Bad move on my part. I’m still feeling woozy.

In case you have no idea what I’m talking about (or are making a mistaken reference to the TV show), the Amazing Race is one of Burlington’s homecoming class competitions. Here’s how it goes:

There are four teams (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors) composed of ten members. Each member is assigned a number (1-10 obviously), which correlates to a certain activity, such as figuring out a simple math problem or eating a nasty sandwich while running up and down three flights of stairs. The catch, however, is that the whole team must run to each station, placed all over the campus. The goal is to reach the finish line (after completing each task successfully without fainting or puking) in the least amount of time. Points are awarded for first, second, third, and fourth places (for determining later who won the overall class competition).

Tonight, with my help of course, the seniors were the victors at about 29 minutes, edging out the juniors by less than a minute. Of course, I was totally about to keel over, so I vowed never to do it again (there’s another Amazing Race for Chickenfest…that’s another story). So now the seniors are in first place for the class competition. We’re upholding the tradition! Woot!

In other news, the big dance is coming up quickly. I’ve already got my suit, made dinner reservations, and bought tickets. All that’s left is to clean up the Geo so it looks somewhat presentable. This year’s homecoming should be really fun. Hopefully I won’t dork it up with Lindsay like I’ve done with a couple dates before. But now I’m older and wiser and have a goatee. You can’t go wrong with a goatee.
