Right. So, we’re into our four day weekend (glee!). Unfortunately, I have quite a bit of homework, as well as craft fair set up Friday evening and the craft fair, Vet’s Day parade, and Burlington-O’Dea football game all on Saturday. Yay. Actually, aside from the parade, I volunteered for everything I have to do this weekend. What can I say? I’m a dedicated band geek. Anyways, if anyone cares, the football game is Burlington’s first match at State and we’re going up against O’Dea. I don’t know their record, but it’ll probably be a good game. Unfortunately, because Lynden lost to Shorecrest last night, the game will be at Memorial Stadium down in Seattle, at six, no less. Well, I hope it’ll be a close game. Or a shutout on our part. While I’d prefer O’Dea to put up a little fight (unlike Cedarcrest last night…51-0…sad, sad, sad), a stomping would be nice for us as well. Whatever keeps us in the tournament, I say. Now, to bribe the refs…

Hurray for sweater vests

You know what I said about us going against Cedarcrest in the playoffs? Well, I lied. It’s not a playoff game, but the winners do go to state (the playoffs). So, here’s hoping we win on Tuesday!

I took Lindsay to see Legend of Zorro today. It was a blast! That movie is one big long adrenaline rush. A fitting sequel to the first one (which I have yet to see).

Also, I’m off to Blaine on Monday for SJMEA with Becca, Ashley, and Theodore (if he wears a sweater vest, I’m going to hit him, just kidding). I’ll be gone from 7:30am to 10pm (or thereabouts). Fun. I’m thinking maybe I’ll let the other clarinetist have the solos. I haven’t practiced at all. Perhaps I should do that…

The Week of Happiness approaches. Repent, and ye may be saved! Okay, I suppose you don’t need salvation to enjoy two half-days and a four-day weekend.

Excellent…

Ferndale is crazy good

Big football game last night against Anacortes. We won, which isn’t as surprising as it used to be. This means we’ll be hosting Cedarcrest on Tuesday in the first game of the playoffs. To my knowledge, this is the first time we’ve had a home playoff game in years. The Tiger football squad has only lost one game (and that was to the undefeated Ferndale Golden Eagles), putting us in the number two seed going into the playoffs. I think we have a really good chance this year.

Not much else going on. We had a half-day today, which I totally wasted by doing nothing. Well, that’s not completely true. I warmed my computer chair up quite a bit, which I suppose counts as something. But nothing productive, which is what counts, I suppose.

If you haven’t gone and seen Charley’s Aunt, you must go see it this weekend! Tonight and Saturday night are the last two performances, so get off your bum and go watch history in the making! Okay, not really. But it is really good. Seriously.
