Snow action

Last night, it snowed an incredible amount. We got around six or seven inches (if not more) between noon yesterday and noon today. Crazy. I have pictures, actually, but my camera is being annoying and it won’t let me get them off, and I’m too lazy to go find the card reader. Meh. They aren’t very good pictures either. That camera is on its last legs. Er, tripod. Whatever.

Anyways, it snowed so much that I wasn’t able to get back down to Seattle yesterday. We got down to Burlington (near the Highway 20 exit) and turned around since we had heard it was snowing all the way down in Seattle. But it took us two hours to get back home. We got stuck on Old Highway 99 right near the entrance to Friday Creek Road and we eventually had to go all the way back to the Cook Road freeway entrance to go all the way up to the Alger exit and get on Friday Creek Road that way. Very slow going, even on the freeway. Of course, the snow was so bad that the State Patrol was “strongly recommending” chains from Burlington to Bellingham, the first time anyone can remember them saying that. Heck, Bellingham got over a foot of snow, so I can understand why. Apparently, Western Washington University even canceled classes for today.

So, I stayed the night at home last night and will stay the night tonight. I heard it was snowing really bad down in Everett, so I’m not sure when I’ll be getting back to school. Oh well. I’ve already contacted all my professors and my boss, so it’s all good. It’s not as if there’s anything I can do. Even if the roads are clear, getting out of our driveway will be a chore and Friday Creek Road is treacherous on a good day. Well, at least the power came back on. Yeah, it had been out since 10 pm yesterday and came back on a little under an hour ago. And with temperatures outside being around 25 degrees Fahrenheit, it was absolutely miserable inside. I can only hope the power doesn’t go out again.

Anyways, I got my new website up and working. It’s codylogan.net, and I plan to offer web templates, both for free and for sale. Soon, I hope to also offer other services, like web and graphic design at reasonable prices. Now, I just have to figure out what “reasonable” is… Anyways, I’ve got one template up now, and I plan to have more soon. This site will stay up as my blog (remember the change to mroarg.lp.tl!), so be sure to check back often (or just subscribe by email up top).
