I’ve decided that I’m not going to pay any more attention to the presidential race until September. Maybe October, if I’m still feeling jaded. I simply don’t care about the candidates right now. It’s still way too early for me to do anything about it. Sure, I suppose I could vote in Washington State’s primary and caucus, but I refuse to vote when third parties aren’t acknowledged. Washington forces you to pick a party to vote for in the primary and caucus. You can’t vote for the other party once you’ve chosen one and there’s no mention at all of parties other than the Democrats and Republicans. I suppose this is the concession made for not having any party registration…
So, I will deal with the flood of political news in the media, but aside from that, you’ll see no posts related to the primaries and I won’t look further into the issues. Once the parties choose their nominations and things really start to matter, I’ll come out of my hole. Until then, I’m ignoring politics like I ignore that Britney girl. And hygiene.
Instead, I’ll renew my interest in football just in time for the Super Bowl. A warning: I’m rooting for the Patriots. Let the hate mail commence!

Hey! I totally agree with this! Screw politics. I’m totally loving your blog! Keep up the awesomeness!!
Thanks for the comment, Amkii.
Dear Cody:
You can do a lot by voting in a primary. You can change your voter registration to a party that has a candidate most similar to your interests, vote for that candidate in the primary, then change your voter registration for November.
It is truly ashame that we give little recognition to independent candidates in this country, however you can have a voice in the primaries. You can also use your vote to bring down candidates that you seriously don’t like by voting for their primary competition. There are many ways of looking at it. In California, many Green party voters are changing their registration for the Democratic primary to vote for Dennis Kucinich, because he most closely matches their view. After the primary, they may choose to change again for November or stay where they are.
This election year is probably the most important one in many years. The mainstream media is being caught censoring candidates and spinnning much before the first votes are cast. To combat this, we have to work a little harder in researching the internet for the truth. Clearly, NBC, ABC, CNN, and FOX are duping the American people. To only listen to the TV or newspaper,is to limit our knowledge on the candidates they would like us to choose.
Best wishes to you. Thanks for visiting my site.
Well, Washington State doesn’t have party registration at all (to my knowledge), so I suppose it wouldn’t be a problem to be a Democrat in the primary and vote for Kucinich, especially since there are no Republican candidates I like.
It just bugs me that third parties aren’t represented in the primaries. I guess it doesn’t help bring recognition to third parties by avoiding the system entirely. Thanks for the advice.
I totally agree with you! I don’t think it helps to further our cause by avoiding the system. In fact, I would bet that’s what corporate interests, as mentioned above, would want us to do if we’re not for “their candidate”. Just look at what they are trying to do to Kucinich for his outspoken position on the environment, including switching away from nuclear power - GE doesn’t like that. GE stands to profit the most from ongoing war and nuclear power. They own NBC, MSNBC. They are trying to erase Kucinich, but he just won’t go away. Don’t let them silence your voice!
Yay!!!!
I’m usually way more into the campaigns than I am this time around. I dunno if it’s that none of the candidates interest me, or I simply don’t trust myself anymore. I voted for W, twice. Sorry about that.
I just wanna vote against Hillary.
I should be more into this, considering it’ll be the first presidential election I can actually vote in. It’s just not as epic as it should be.
Rub it in, kiddo.
Hehe…
