Midterm hell

Friday, January 27th, 2006

At long last, the week of midterms hell is over! I’m so happy! Well, not as happy as I could be, I suppose, considering I probably ended up with a horrible grade in Calc. And I promise that next semester, I’ll actually do my homework for it.

Girls basketball game tonight (oh joy…), but I’m going out to dinner with Lindsay before and then to a movie-fest-night-thing at a friend’s house. Much rejoicing will be had.

Now that I’m going into a three day weekend, I had better get working on my website. Huzzah for Photoshop and Dreamweaver and mass amounts of tutorials!

Week of death and misery and nasty things

Monday, November 28th, 2005

This is the week of death and misery and nasty things that hide under your bed. I’ll see if I can summarize it for you:

Today – Bowling at 6:30
Tues – Marching practice 2:30-4; dinner at Grandma’s; youth group at 6:30 (no bowling practice thankfully)
Wed – Basketball game at 6:30
Thurs – Marching practice 2:30-4; bowling practice 4:45-5:45
Fri – Basketball game at 6:30
Sat – Bowling game at 1:20, parade at 3:00

And who knows what else may crop up. I had been planning to take Lindsay bowling or something (heh, as if I need more bowling), but it doesn’t look like I have much free time. I suppose if I really wanted to, I could skip the Friday game…I dunno. This just isn’t a good week to have a social life. But at least I finished my UW application! *dances*

Basketball update

Saturday, February 26th, 2005

The good news: girls go on to state. The bad news: guys don’t.

Just a brief update on the high school basketball deal. The guys, once again, have proven themselves to be incompetent at getting a ball in a basket during the tournament. Other than that, the games were fun. We played a bunch of good songs and had a good time with lots of cookies. On the home front, not much else is happening. A boring weekend to be sure. Perhaps something amusing will happen tomorrow.

Blind referees

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

ARGH! I can’t believe we lost to Sedro, of all high schools! Well, okay, I saw it, so I believe it, but that doesn’t make me want to. I swear, they went to the McKenna School for Blind Referees to get the refs at this game. Either that or they were from Sedro. Whatever the case, they just couldn’t see it when Sedro fouled a Burlington player and they called at least three fouls on Burlington that were bogus. And on top of all of that, our guys seem to choke up at the district tournament. They did it two years ago, too. But I guess it didn’t help that Sedro was sinking threes left and right. They play Squalicum on Saturday (I think) so they still have a really good chance of going onto state. Tonight, the girls. They play Bellingham. Looks like it should be a good game for us.

Shameless advertising

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005

Go here. Now.

Shameless advertising out of the way, today has been so-so so far. I had a runny nose all day which resulted in me performing an impromptu experiment regarding the quality of tissues vs. toilet paper for one’s nose. Curse the lack of Sudafed in my house. I’ll have to make do with lesser known medicines, such as root of mushroom and the like…

Apparently the Burlington-Edison basketball teams (both guys and girls) are having a most excellent year. They’ve stuck it out so far and if they win on Wednesday and Thursday, they’ll both go on to state, which the guys haven’t done since ’82 and the girls have never done. Guys on Wednesday (I think) and girls on Thursday. If they lose, they play on Saturday. But I really hope they both win. That’d be awesome. So what if the band (including me) has to go up to Bellingham tomorrow and Thursday? I like it.

18 days until hell on Earth. In other, less offensive words, I have the (new) SAT on March 12. Perhaps that’s actually a little more offensive than hell.
